Just over 1 hour north of Adelaide, the Barossa Valley has a rich history of wine making since 1842.
This world-renowned wine region is a home to over 80 Cellar Doors/Tasting rooms that are well known for the big robust styles of red wine; Barossa Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Grenache, Semillon, Eden Valley Riesling, Chardonnay and Fortified wines.
Drive down the driveway, passing the 1894 Command Vineyard to the magnificent homestead, now the cellar door of Elderton Wines. Enjoy a cheese platter whilst tasting the Exceptional Sites range of wines, crafted from premium vineyards from Nuriootpa and Greenock.
Venture into the Eden Valley to Yalumba Wine Room, established by Samuel Smith in 1849, one of the 1st families of wine in Australia.
Discover the Yalumba’s Cooperage; the only on-site winery Cooperage in the Southern Hemisphere, a rare insight into the craft of wine barrel making. Depending on the time of year you will likely see firsthand the Coopers hard at work preparing
or maintain wine barrels for Yalumba’s fine wines.
Enjoy a 2 course Lunch (Main & Dessert) with a glass of wine at Wanera Wine Bar in Angaston.
The majestic Bavarian-style Château Tanunda is home to 130 years of winemaking in the region.
Swirl, taste and experience carefully hand-crafted wines, pulled straight from the barrel during a curated tasting session in the Château Tanunda cellars.
Let your nose take the lead as you embark on this sensory adventure featuring sub-regional wines from our specially chosen Estate vineyards. Barrel tasting not only gives you a sneak peek into what’s to come, but also a unique opportunity to taste a wines’ progression during oak maturation and gain a whole new perspective on the winemaking process.
You will be privately hosted by a Luxury Wine Specialist as you learn about the art of winemaking, barrel maturation and oak selection. Complete your experience with a tasting from the award-winning ‘50 Year Old Vines’ Shiraz and 50 Year Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon.
Family owned and operated, Langmeil is believed to be home to the oldest Shiraz vineyard in the world, planted in 1843 where the iconic Langmeil Freedom 1843 Shiraz hails.
The winery was one of the Barossa’s original settlements called Langmeil, with many of the 1840s buildings still standing today.
Taste their award winning selection of wines in the restored ironstone building, formerly the stables.
